Before coming into the MMA fighting ring, Cejudo was into the wrestling career and he was the most successful wrestler at that time. He started his early wrestling career with zero defeats and 150 wins and won the state title in high school. In 2008, Cejudo won the Olympic Gold Medal for team US and it was the first time in 100 years for an American to win a gold medal in the weight class.
