YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and former UF champion Tyron Woodley will box on August 29. Do you know how much money will they make from this showdown?
This is the question that is on everyone’s mind.
According to Sportingfree, Paul will receive a guaranteed purse of $1 million.
If pay-per-view earnings are above average, then his total earnings from the fight will be around $2 million.
Woodley, however, is guaranteed to pocket a $500,000 paycheck with a share of the pay-per-view revenue. The MMA veteran is likely to get around $1 million in total earnings.
Despite being paid less than Paul, Woodley and his team seem happy with the expected amount they are set to earn.
In a recent interview, Woodley’s agent did not reveal the exact amount his client will make, but he admitted that the camp is happy with the purse.
This is one of the best deals he has done, the agent was quoted as saying.
Paul is confident to make it big in boxing
Jake Paul is brimming with confidence prior to his boxing fight against Tyron Woodley, and his unbeaten record gives him every reason to be so.
Speaking on The Last Stand Podcast, he said: “I am on a trajectory to become the biggest prizefighter in the world.”
“For the kids, I look like Mike Tyson. Your grandpa had Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, your dad had Floyd Mayweather, this generation has Jake Paul.”
Chaos at the pre-fight presser
A heated scuffle broke out between family and friends of both boxers in the recent press conference held.
Speaking to MMAJunkie, Paul admitted that he never wanted to be part of the ugly scenes.
“Of course (I didn’t want it to happen). This is Women’s Equality Day. If it was literally anything else, I’m just sitting there talking about how much I love my mom, how much I love my girlfriend, and of course, there has to be an altercation involving females. It sucks. Just everything about it just looks messy,” the YouTuber-turned-boxer said.
“We’re trying to have a professional event here, and now things are more personal. Probably going to need more security at all these places. Things just aren’t cordial anymore. Tensions will definitely be higher going into this fight.”
Paul added that the altercations have made the fight “more personal” for him.
On the other hand, Tyron Woodley has said that he will never let anyone walk away with disrespecting his mother regardless of how the situation is or what are the circumstances.
“When disrespect comes to my mother, it’s a whole issue,” Woodley said. “F*ck this money, f*ck this bag, f*ck the PPV, f*ck the fight. When it comes to that, it will not be tolerated.
“I addressed his camp because they’re a whole bunch of f*cking goofies, and they are. At the end of the day, they didn’t like what I said which is the truth, so they started going back and forth and talking, which they are more than willing to do. But what you’re not willing to do is f*cking talk to my mother any type of way. I don’t give a f*ck if you’re a whole op, if you killed my friend, I’m never gonna speak on nobody’s mom,” he said.
