Manny Pacquiao will come to action this weekend, two years after his last victory over Keith Thurman. Pacquiao was supposed to fight Errol Spence Jr but Spence had to withdraw due to a retinal tear. WBA titlist Yordenis Ugas of Cuba steps in to replace him. So, this time it will be Pacquiao vs Ugas on Saturday, August 21.

“It’s a good thing we can settle it down about the WBA belt,” said Pacquiao at the final press conference on Wednesday. “It’ll be a good thing that we can settle it down on Saturday. It’s going to be a good fight.”

“I want to send well wishes to Errol Spence. I want to wish him all the best and a speedy recovery,” said Ugas. “This has been a long road for me. Obviously, it’s short notice fight. I’m thankful and very honored for this opportunity, and I’m ready.”

In 2019 Ugas fought against Shawn Porter but lost due to a controversial split decision. Since then he has lightweight titlist Omar Figueroa Jr, Mike Dallas Jr, and gained the WBA belt against Abel Ramos. But Ugas fights at a very slow pace, which is definitely great news for Pacquiao.
