Mouni Roy was born on 28 September 1985 and is the daughter of Anil Roy and Mukti Roy.
Her mother Mukti Roy was a theatre artist, and her father Anil Roy was an office superintendent of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad.
Earlier, Mouni Roy dated Gaurav Chopra and was seen together in the TV show Pati, Patni Aur Woh.
However, The two broke up in 2012. Gaurav Chopra had started dating Mouni Roy after breaking up with Narayani.

Mouni Roy did her schooling till class 12th at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Baburhat, Cooch Behar.
After that, She took up mass communication at Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi at her parents’ insistence but left the course midway.
She only finished her part 1 exam in mass communication at Jamia Milia Islamia.
Career
Mouni Roy started her career with Ekta Kapoor’s TV show Kyun Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2007) as Krishna Tulsi, in which she appeared opposite Pulkit Samrat.
Some of her successful TV shows include Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasturi, Devo ke dev Mahadev, Nagin, Naagin 2, Tashan-e-Ishq, Junoon, Naagin 3, Krishna Chali London, Jhalak Dikhhla Ja 9, Ek Tha Raja Ek The Rani. She was also the finalist of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in 2014.
Mouni Roy made her debut in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar’s Gold.

- While on her way to the trailer launch of the Bollywood film Made in China, Mouni Roy’s car was damaged when a large rock fell on it from the 11th floor of Mumbai Metro’s construction site in Juhu. She wrote on Twitter,
