The final match of the CFL season, known as The Grey Cup 2021 is going to happen on Sunday, December 12.

Grey Cup is the championship game of the Canadian Football League or CFL. The victorious team playing Canadian football is eligible to get the trophy after winning the competition.

Though NFL is the most popular football league in the world, the CFL is equally popular here in Canada. The new season has just kicked off. The last year’s league was canceled due to COVID 19, and there are plenty of surprises when it comes to the favorites.

In the final match of the West Conference, the Bombers defeated the Roughriders in 21-17 and secured their place in the Grey Cup.

  1. So sad to see that the CFL limits its viewing audience to those with cable subscriptions or paid streaming services. Its no wonder they struggle with gaining viewer interest.
    While they have a far superior game over the NFL, they just don’t have a good strategy. The NFL broadcasts all but 1 game per week on network television where you can see the game with a simple tv and a set of rabbit ears. The number of households you can reach with that “free viewing” garners massive interest and snowballs from there.
    Our football is far more exciting to watch but we’ve been overrun by NFL marketing and broadcast strategy. A net loss for Canada. What happened to the days when grey cup parties were staged in every household from coast to coast as it was broadcast on CBC, which serves us far and wide?
