Game Preview

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (13-0) will look for a win to go one step closer to their second consecutive national title. This year’s Heisman Trophy finalist Stetson Bennett led the Bulldogs to the College Football National title last year. He will be vying to do the same.

The Georgia Bulldogs have one of the best rushing attacks in the nation. It will be tough for the Ohio State defense to contain Stetson Bennett and tight end Brock Bowers.

On the other hand, Ohio State will look to reach its first national championship since 2014. The Buckeyes finished no. 4 with their 11-1 record, setting up the Peach Bowl against Georgia.

Ohio State is the only team not to play on the championship weekend. They finished fourth as USC lost to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship game, and LCU finished third despite losing to Kansas City in the Big 12 Championship game.

In November, the Ohio State defense struggled to contain no. 3 Michigan in their 45-23 defeat. It could be another tough night for them.

Ohio State’s offense will be led by this year’s Heisman Trophy finalist C.J. Stroud. Stroud and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be key against this season’s best defense.

Georgia and Ohio State met only once in the playoff, in the 1993 Citrus Bowl. Georgia defeated Ohio State by 21-14 in that game.
