The tournament will start in Dubai as soon as the Indian Premier League concludes. Dubai has become an escape route for the Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League in recent years to hold their leagues whenever both Pakistan and India have trouble organising it within their territories.

Recently, the Paksitan Cricket Board resumed the PSL at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium after the coronavirus situation had forced the management to bring the league to a halt in Pakistan.

Following the same pattern, the BCCI will also resume the IPL in Dubai on September 19.

Favourites

India and New Zealand are heavy favourites as per Surprise Sports. While England are the top-ranked side, they are not likely to excel on the Dubai tracks that are quite different to typical English tracks.

India have played a fair bit of cricket, both international and franchise, in the UAE and likely to flourish as an Asian side that has similar conditions back home.

New Zealand are a great side when it comes to adapting to the conditions regardless of the venue. Winning the World Test Championship will have them in high spirits as well.

Pakistan is another side that can excel in Dubai, considering no other team in the world has played more in Dubai than them in the last decade.

Dubai played the role of the Pakistan team’s home when the country had trouble hosting international cricket due to security reasons.
