Afghanistan – the dark horses
Afghanistan have become a force to reckon with in white-ball cricket, courtesy of their bowling and batting specialists.
The likes of Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Mujib ur Rehman and Najibullah Zadran have strengthened the Afghanistan side in a matter of few years.
These stars are now T20 royalties across the globe and highly valuable members of their respective franchises.
Playing in T20 leagues around the world has helped them evolve as a cricketing nation and use their versatile experience to improve as a unit.
India and New Zealand are heavy favourites as per Surprise Sports. While England are the top-ranked side, they are not likely to excel on the Dubai tracks that are quite different to typical English tracks.
India have played a fair bit of cricket, both international and franchise, in the UAE and likely to flourish as an Asian side that has similar conditions back home.
New Zealand are a great side when it comes to adapting to the conditions regardless of the venue. Winning the World Test Championship will have them in high spirits as well.
Pakistan is another side that can excel in Dubai, considering no other team in the world has played more in Dubai than them in the last decade.
Dubai played the role of the Pakistan team’s home when the country had trouble hosting international cricket due to security reasons.
