The La Liga season 2022-2023 is set to return on Friday, 12 August. After having a poor season in the last term, Barcelona will try to begin their new campaign on the right foot. Here we will discuss Barcelona in La Liga 22-23, August fixtures, key dates, key players, and predicted lineup for the new season.
Barcelona in La Liga 22-23:
It will be the first full season for Barcelona under Xavi as the head coach. Xavi took over a messed-up Barcelona side last November. They finished second in the La Liga, knocked out from the Round of 16 in Copa del Rey. Moreover, the Catalan club couldn’t pass the group stage in the Champions League.
However, Barcelona showed some signs of life after Xavi took over. They had a 15-match unbeaten run late in the season that included a 0-4 victory over Real Madrid.
With exciting new signings, the Blaugrana are all set to compete for the domestic title as well as the European title. They have brought Robert Lewandowski (€45m) from Bayern Munich who would surely add to their offense. Moreover, the arrival of Raphinha (€58m) from Leeds will add the samba flair up the wing. Xavi has strengthened his side with the newcomers Jules Kounde (€50m) from Sevilla, Franck Kessie (Free) from AC Milan, and Andreas Christensen (Free) from Chelsea. On top of that, Marcos Alonso to Barcelona from Chelsea is only a matter of time. The Spaniard will surely give Jordi Alba a competition at the left.
With Dembele being revived, Aubameyang making a habit to find the back of the net, Ansu Fati recovered from injury, Pedri being the key piece in the midfield, and new faces at the defense, Barcelona will surely go hot from the beginning of the season.

Key Player: Robert Lewandowski
The Pole would be the key player for Barcelona in the upcoming season. He will be the big name Barcelona had been missing since the departure of Lionel Messi last season. The Pole is one of the great center-forwards of the world. It would be interesting to see the rivalry between Benzema and Lewandowski.
Lewandowski won eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League in eight years and scored 344 goals. He scored 35 goals in 34 appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich last season and another 13 in the Champions League.
Barcelona Predicted Lineup:
4-3-3: Ter Stegen; Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Christensen, Jordi Alba; Franck Kessie, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri; Dembele, Lewandowski, Raphinha
