Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo named Premier League Player of the Month for September. He returned to Manchester United after 12 years after a successful career in Spain and Italy this summer.
He has beaten Joao Cancelo, Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger, Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr to claim the award. This is the fifth time he win the Premier League’s player of the month award in his career.
After joining Manchester United, Ronaldo showed his class to the fans. In his debut match against Newcastle, he scored two goals at Old Trafford. He also scored a goal in the United’s victory against West Ham.
He scored five goals in his six games. In September, he scored three goals in three matches, which kept him ahead in the run of the best player award.
Cristiano Ronaldo posted on Twitter: “Proud to be elected Player Of The Month among so many great players in the Premier League.”
“Thanks to all my teammates at Man United, couldn’t have done it without them. Let’s keep working hard and the results will come!”
Ronaldo’s teammates are also happy about his achievement. Jesse Lingard said “He’s brought so much to the team. The leadership factor, he wants to win in training, he wants to win in games and he wants to win trophies, which is the main thing. He’s great to be around to watch what he does.
“You can learn so many things from him. He’s one of the best players in the world. To have him back home is perfect for use at the moment.
“He’s humble. He’s a positive person. To be learning different things off the field as well as on it has been good. I think he can really help out the team this season.”
