Spain vs Croatia is among one of the most awaited clashes EUFA Euro 2020 the round of 16, mainly because both teams are laden with high-profile players.

Luis Enrique’s team progress to the round of 16 after thumping Slovakia 5-0. La Roja’s win equalled the European Championship all-time record margin of victory.

Enrique believes that none of the Euro 2020 competition would willingly take on the in-form Spain. He has acknowledged Croatia as a strong side and hailed the quality of players in Zlatko Dalić’s side.

“We are gaining momentum. I’m sure that if you ask any of our rivals no one will be happy to have to play against us. Now we get to play against a Croatia team that has great players and plays at a high level. You can’t expect weak teams in the round of 16,” the Spain coach asserted

Croatia boss Zlatko Dalić has lamented the absence of Ivan Perisic in the team ahead of the Spain game.

The lethal striker played a crucial role in Croatia’s 2019 World Cup campaign where they got beaten by France in the final.

“It will be very hard to replace Perišić but I think we have quality solutions and I am sure whoever will be playing, he will play his best to help the team. Can he replace Perišić at the same level? I doubt it,” Dalić said.

“ut we are really well covered at that left-wing position and we will have a quality solution. We don’t need to worry about the other teams. We respect them all, especially [Spain]. They also know that we are a quality team and they are not happy to be playing against us. We have to be fully motivated. Our goal is to reach the quarter-finals.”
