The World Cup 2022 will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18 at eight stadiums across five cities this year. It will be a truly unique competition as FIFA brings its showcase event to the Middle East for the first time.
There will be 29 teams guaranteed a spot in the tournament before the draw takes place, and three more will be determined in play-offs after the draw. Qatar qualified automatically and will be joined by 13 European teams.

Like our hosts in Qatar, we are convinced that by then it will be possible to hold the Congress in person,”

- Based on FIFA rankings, the competing teams will be divided into four pots
- The top seven countries and hosts Qatar in pot one.
