When and Where is the FIFA World Cup Draw 2022?

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Draw is set at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre located in Doha, Qatar, on April 1, Friday, at 12 PM ET.

Qualified Teams for the 2022 World Cup Draw:

The FIFA World Cup draw will be scheduled to take place on April 1. As of 31 March, we have got 29 teams that will participate in the draw for the final round competition. Those are teams are-

Qatar, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, France, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, England, Switzerland, Netherlands, Argentina, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Canada, Ghana, Senegal, Portugal, Poland, Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, United States, and Mexico(following the ranked)

Expected Qualifying Pot:

There will be four-pot and eight teams in each pot. Qatar will join Pot 1 with the seven highest-ranking teams by FIFA’s released rank list as the tournament host.

Pot 1

There are 8 teams in Pot 1. It includes Qatar’s host team and 7 top-ranked teams, namely Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain, and Portugal.

Brazil and Argentina are in Pot 1. So, they cannot be drawn in the same group for the World Cup 2022.

Pot 2

The next FIFA top-ranked 8 teams are in Pot 2. This pot includes Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Uruguay, Mexico, and the United States.

Each group will be formed with at least one Pot 1 and Pot 2. As things stand, Argentina and Germany can face each other on the group stage. No matter what, at least 2 high-voltage teams will be in the same group.

Pot 3

After pot 2, the next FIFA top-ranked 8 teams are in Pot 3. This pot includes Senegal, Iran, Japan, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, South Korea, and Canada.

2 teams from the same qualifying region cannot be drawn in the same group, except in the UEFA region. Hence, France and Germany, or Spain and Germany, can be drawn into the same group.

Pot 4

The remaining 3 teams who will be qualified for the World Cup in June will be placed in Pot 4 in the draw. Pot 4 includes –

  • Tunisia
  • Cameroon
  • Ecuador
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Ghana
  • Peru/Australia/UAE
  • Costa Rica/New Zealand
  • Wales/Scotland/Ukraine

There will be 4 teams in a group, taking 1 team from each pot. Get ready for an exciting draw for the biggest event on the earth.
