The world’s number one Iga Swiatek is at the highest peak of her career winning four tournaments in a row and 23 unbeaten matches. After Stuttgart Open, Swiatek came to Spain but she with withdraw herself from the Madrid Open 2022. Swiatek cited, that she withdraw from the Madrid Open cause of her shoulder injury.

The Polish star was always the headline of WTA news since her debuting in tennis. She had won and achieved many prestigious tours and titles before this season. But this season is the best time of Swiatek’s career till now. She won all of her last four appearing tournaments. Swiatek won Indian Wells and Miami Open back to back and became the only a few to earn the Double Sunshine title.

Swiatek reached the highest peak of her career and is the youngest tennis player among the top 10. After Australian women’s tennis boss Ashleigh Barty decided to retire from tennis, Swiatek got her place. WTA named Swiatek the world’s number one tennis player right after she won the Miami Open.

Swiatek was set to play at the Madrid Open 2022 right now. But after returning from Stuttgart Open, she got too tired and unfortunately hurt her right shoulder. In the Stuttgart Open, Swiatek defeated Aryna Sabalenka to win the game. Swiatek was ready to compete in the Madrid Open but after the accident, she has no way but to withdraw.

Swiatek says, “Honestly, I wanted to play it really badly. But sometimes you just have to make the cleverest decision possible. My heart was like, ‘Hey, Iga, this is Madrid.’ I only had one chance to play here, and I feel like I could do better. So I wanted to improve the result that I had last year.”

Swiatek was set to play against qualifier Andrea Petkovic in her opening match in Madrid Open. Swiatek was the top seed in Madrid Open. After Swiatek withdraws from Madrid Open 2022, the world number 17 Leylah Fernandez becomes the top seed. And Paula Badosa is the second seed in the tournament, she debuted as the world number two in the last WTA ranking.

When Iga Swiatek will return?
