However, Liverpool’s preseason 2022 has been eventful. Their star forward Sadio Mane left the club for Bayern Munich. On the other hand, the Reds have welcomed Darwin Nunez who would be the first-choice striker for Klopp. The 23-year-old Uruguayan is already finding nets for Liverpool. Liverpool played preseason matches against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig, Salzburg, Man City, and Strasbourg. It was an eventful preseason campaign for Liverpool before the Premier League 2022-2023 in August.
Liverpool 0-4 Man United:
Liverpool suffered a disappointing defeat by 0-4 goals against Erik ten Hag’s Man United in Thailand. Sancho, Fred, and Martial scored in the first half to give them a 3-0 lead.
Carvalho, Firmino, and Diaz started up front for Liverpool. Salah and Nunez were brought in after 60 minutes.

Liverpool 3-1 Man City:
Liverpool won the most competitive match in the preseason by 3-1 goals against Man City to grab the Community Shield.
Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring for Liverpool. Julian Alvarez got one back to make it 1-1 before Salah found the back of the net from a penalty. Darwin Nunez scored the third from a header to seal the match. It was a dominating performance from the Reds.

Juergen Klopp’s side will begin their Premier League 2022-2023 campaign against Fulham on Saturday, 6 August. Then they will host Crystal Palace and visit Old Trafford to play Man Utd. They will finish August at home against Bournemouth.
