Match Prediction

Manchester City have dominated in recent years by winning each of their last six matches across all competitions by an aggregate score of 17-2 – their best ever shot against the Gunners.

The most recent meeting saw Manchester City achieve 3-0 victory at the Emirates in December, with all of the goals occurring in the first half as De Bruyne netted either side of a Raheem Sterling strike.

Arsenal has not won a league game from Man City since December 2015, although there was one victory back in January of that year for their last league win at the Etihad.

Arsenal will come into this match in good form, but they have a very bad record against Man City in recent times and Guardiola’s side will be heartbroken from their derby defeat, regardless of where the Premier League sits in their priority list.

We can expect a seventh straight Man City victory over the Gunners.

Predicted Lineups

Man City

Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, D Silva; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling

Arsenal possible match lineup:

Leno; Bellerin, Luiz, Mustafi, Saka; Guendouzi, Xhaka; Pepe, Ozil, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Manchester City ready to bounce back from Derby defeat

Any player will agree that they prefer to have another match as soon after a defeat as possible in order to respond in a better way and remove any signs of their previous defeat.

The desire to return to the winning side will only be increased by the fact that Sunday’s loss came against local rivals Manchester United – the third time they have tasted derby defeat this season, including in both Premier League games.

The Citizens predictably dominated possession for the starting 20 minutes or so, Man City then could not match United and ended up with a 2-0 final scoreline, Ederson was at fault for both goals.

This was the Sky Blues’ seventh loss in the Premier League this season, which is more than ninth-placed Arsenal and the most Guardiola has ever experienced in a single league campaign.

De Bruyne’s comeback expected

Man City is hopeful of being able to welcome Kevin De Bruyne back from his shoulder injury in time to play this match after he was unable to play at the derby on Sunday.

The Belgian playmaker, who brilliantly scored twice in the reverse fixture at the Emirates, has managed to return to training on Monday.

He is expected to be playing in the coming match against Arsenal.
