The deal is worth 73 million pounds on a five-year contract and that includes the option of a further year it ends.
A year-long ago Manchester United tried to sign Sancho. Borussia Dortmund wanted 108 million for him and also wanted it done by 10th August 2020. But the United States didn’t agree and decided to wait.
And the wait has been worth it because they have managed to get him on for 73 million pounds that deal of course was great and this was agreed on July the first. And, finally, Jadon Sancho is a Manchester United player.
Sancho is one of European football’s most exciting young players:
Jadon Sancho is 21 years old, scored 50 goals, and had 64 assists in four seasons with Borussia Dortmund. Sancho was a key man for Dortmund and over the course of four seasons in the Bundesliga, he played 104 games for the club and notched 89 goals and assists.
Sancho told United’s official website, “I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first-team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day, the chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the premier league.
This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”
Also, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, “Jadon epitomizes the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United.
“He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom.
“His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair, and creativity to the team.”
‘Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.
‘For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.’
The dream team is back!
Jadon has become the second most expensive English signing of all time.
Sancho moves back to Manchester just four years after quitting United’s rivals City to move to Germany, where he scored 50 goals in 137 matches for the Bundesliga outfit.
Only his new clubmate and captain Harry Maguire cost more when he moved from Leicester City to Manchester United in 2019 for 80 million pounds and Sancho becomes the club’s fourth most expensive signing. Only Paul Labile Pogba and Harry Maguire of course have cost more.
Sancho is in some pretty good company in terms of assists since the start of 2018. He is just too behind Leonel Messi in Europe’s top leagues ahead of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander. At the same time, Sancho has been directly involved in the joint-most goals of any English player across the top five European leagues with 78 and that’s the same amount as Harry Kane.
