Gerard Pique reportedly regretted splitting up with ex-wife and former lover Shakira and desperately tried to win her back.
Gerard Pique is said to have tried to mend the broken fences and have his wife back just a month after they parted ways.
According to Marca, the Colombian pop star is said to have refused to take him back after he started his new life with 22-year-old Clara Chia Marti.
Sources close to the former couple confirmed Pique’s relationship with Shakira had began to cracked long before the officially parted ways in April 2022.
A month after the split, Gerard Pique reportedly returned to the singer asking her to forget everything and get back together.
Gerard Pique is said to have regretted leaving Shakira and decided to try again albeit the renowned pop star held her ground and stood firm.
It was further disclosed that the split could have been arrested and the two parties would have come back together if Shakira accepted Pique’s remorse.
After Gerard Pique’s attempt on reconciliation was turned down by Shakira, the former Barcelona defender wasted no time moving on as he started dating PR student Clara Chia Marti.
Meanwhile, Shakira was reportedly battling instances of alleged infidelity by Pique and has been gratuitous in forgiving the footballer.
However, she chose to turn down Pique’s advances to restore the relationship after the split as she could no longer put up such incidents anymore.
Shakira later revealed a revenge song BZRP Music Sessions #53, which she described as catharsis and release. One of the lyrics says: “I’m not coming back to you, not even if you cry or beg me.”
The lyrics is Shakira’s allusion to the attempt by Gerard Pique to have her back, which she turned down and instead chose to move on with her life.
Shakira also aimed dig at Gerard Pique’s new lover Clara Chia Marti with ironical lines that seem to undermine her new replacement in Pique’s life
The lyrics in the new track reads; “I’m worth two 22s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo, you traded a Rolex for a Casio.”
Gerard Pique immediately responded to the song by turning up to work in an £8,000 Renault Twingo.
He also boasted that his new seven-a-side project the King’s League had landed a sponsorship deal with Casio – adding that the cheaper watch would “last a lifetime”.
It comes as the footballer came face to face with a creepy witch doll at Shakira’s house the singer has placed on her balcony – which is said to be facing her former mother-in-law’s pad.
Neighbours said Shakira has also been blasting out her new song on repeat so Pique’s mum, Montserrat Bernabéu, can hear.
Pique was spotted driving in Barcelona with his sons Milan, nine, and Sasha, over the weekend. The former Barcelona have obviously chose to move on after the fall out with the Colombian pop star.
