Leandro Trossard, a forward for Brighton, has gotten into a verbal altercation with manager Roberto De Zerbi after being left out of the team to face Liverpool today owing to concerns about his attitude.

According to Leandro Trossard’s agent, the Belgian attacker has a fall-out with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and wants to quit the club.

Due to the attacker’s ongoing training away from the first squad, reports surfaced on Friday morning indicating that the Belgium international was anticipated to miss the match against Jurgen Klopp’s club.

After learning he wouldn’t be playing in Brighton’s FA Cup third-round match against Middlesborough, which the Seagulls went on to easily win, Trossard, 28, departed a training session last week without permission.

The news is unquestionably fantastic for Liverpool. Trossard was the hat-trick hero in the two teams’ thrilling 3-3 draw at Anfield in October, which was De Zerbi’s first game in charge after Graham Potter’s departure.

Nevertheless, Zerbi stated at his press conference that the Belgian international does have a role in the team moving forward if he puts in the work, but he will not play against the Reds on Saturday.

Brighton Manager De Zerbi speaking on Trossard

The Italian manager stated, “Leandro isn’t on the list of players for today.” He walked out of the training session without speaking to me. It’s also not good. I expressed to him why I didn’t appreciate his attitude and behavior during our conversation.

Although Trossard has been dealing with a minor calf injury, sources claim manager De Zerbi decided not to include the attacker in the senior team due to worries about the forward’s attitude and work rate.

In Brighton’s five games since the World Cup break, he has started two of them, but he hasn’t played in either of their most recent two matches against Everton and Middlesbrough.

There have been rumours that the winger, who moved to Brighton in 2019 from Genk of Belgium, may leave the Seagulls this month.

In the Premier League standings, Brighton sits just one point behind Jurgen Klopp’s team in eighth position, putting pressure on Liverpool. The Seagulls will overtake them in the table if they win on Saturday.

The most recent of these 14 goals, scored by Zerbi’s team against Middlesborough in a 5-1 victory while Trossard sat out, came in just four games against Southampton, Arsenal, Everton, and Middlesborough.

Liverpool has had a lot of success at Brighton since Brighton returned to the Premier League, winning four of their five visits since 2017. Their most recent victory came in March when Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah each scored once to give them a 2-0 victory.
