The event started with a field of 68 players, with world no. 2 Cameron Smith and Tommy Fleetwood withdrawing. Moreover, last week’s St. Jude Championship winner, Will Zalatoris, withdrew during Round 3 due to a back injury. Now, the remaining 67 players will battle it out for a whopping total purse and a lucrative payday.
BMW Championship 2022 Purse
The PGA has announced the total purse of the BMW Championship 2022 will be a whopping $15m. It’s a significant rise from last year’s $9.7m total purse of the event. There is no cut after 36 holes, and the 68-player field will get a share of the total purse. The winner of the event will take home a lucrative $2.7m. Will Zalatoris, who will be the last player on the payday after withdrawing due to injury on Saturday, will earn $30,600.
After this event, only 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings will enter the next playoff event at East Lake in Atlanta next week.
