The BMW Ladies Championship 2022 is the latest women’s golf tournament in South Korea. Co-sanctioned by LPGA Tour and LPGA Tour Korea, it began on October 20 and ran till October 22. Here we have the BMW Ladies Championship purse and payouts.
The BMW Ladies Championship was founded in 2015 and was sanctioned by the LPGA of Korea Tour. Then the LPGA Tour then joined as a co-host of the tournament in 2019.
In all, 78 female golfers took part in the 2022 competition. It occurred at the Oak Valley Country Club in Wonju, Gangwon, Korea.
Upon completion of the final round, the New Zealand female golfer Lydia Ko became the new champion of the 2022 BMW Ladies Championship. This was her 2nd LPGA title of the season. While the American professional golfer, Andrea Lee, held the runner-up spot in the event.
BMW Ladies Championship 2022 Purse
The 2022 BMW Ladies Championship, like its previous two editions, announced a total of $2 million. As a result, the placement-based prize distribution remained unchanged from previous years.
Lydia Ko, the 2022 champion, received a winner’s share of 15% of the entire prize pool. Last year’s victor, Ko Jin-young, received the same amount, $300,000. While the 2nd position holder, Andrea Lee, received $183,381 as prize money.
This year, the LPGA Tour events cut rule was trimmed to the top 70 players and ties. As such, there won’t be any prize money for the secondary cut makers. The last three placed players are set to receive $3,815, $3,769, and $3,721, respectively.
