The 2022 Genesis Scottish Open starts on July 7 featuring the best golfers in the world and huge prize money. Here, you will get a clear idea about the total purse and payout of the tournament.
As a direct result of the co-sanctioning, PGA Tour players will be able to earn FedEx Cup points. As a result, 14 of the top 15 players in the world will be participating in the tournament.
The course at the Renaissance Club is not a conventional links course. It is still widely regarded as an excellent warmup for the tournament that will take place the following week at St. Andrews.
After the first two rounds of the Open, the field will be narrowed down to the top 65 players, including those tied for first place. In addition, the participants who complete all four rounds are the only ones eligible to win a portion of the total prize pool.
Genesis Scottish Open 2022 Total Purse:
$8 million will be awarded to the winners of the tournament. It is important to note that the winner will receive 18% of the total prize money, which is the regular proportion based on the prize money distribution formula for the Tour.
How Much Does the winner get?
In addition to receiving additional prizes, the person who comes out on top in the competition will receive prize money worth $1,440,000. Notably, up to the end of the 2016 season, the points for the Race to Dubai were awarded to the winner.
Conversely, the winner will walk away with 500 FedEx points because the PGA Tour co-sanctioned the competition.
