The John Deere Classic 2023 will kick off on Thursday at the TPC Deere Run in Illinois. It’s one of the final events leading up to the final major championship this year, the Open Championship.
Tour pros not already qualified for the Open Championship in two-week time will get an opportunity to earn a spot in the major championship. This year, John Deere Classic offers three exemptions into the Open Championship.
The defending champion J.T. Poston will return to defend his title. Due to its awkward schedule on the calendar, the field will not be star-studded. Nine golfers will participate this year among the top 50 golfers in the world.
Last year’s PGA Tour rookie of the Year and world no. 14 Cameron Young will look for his maiden PGA tour title. PGA Tour veterans Denny McCarthy and Russell Henley are the betting favorites this week.
The golfers will play for three spots in the Open Championship, as well as a lucrative purse. Below, you can follow the John Deere Classic 2023 purse and prize money breakdown.
John Deere Classic Purse For 2023
