The PGA Tour Champions’ first major, the Regions Tradition 2022, is in its Final Round at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. Here, you will find everything about The Tradition, including the schedule, tee times, and purse.
Tournament Preview:
Regions Tradition 2022, the first major of the five scheduled in this year’s PGA Tour Champions, has come back in its pre-covid form and is just around the corner. The PGA Tour Champions’ first major will go underway in Birmingham, Alabama, on 12 May. 78 players will take the host course with a $2.5m total purse.
Alex Cejka, the defending champion of the Tradition who won the event last May in only his third PGA Tour Champions start, will hit the ground on Thursday’s first round. Another big name Steven Alker, the leading money-winner on tour this year, will compete against the defending champion.
Alex Cejka hasn’t won since winning the two majors last season. This year, his best finish is the joint second place at Rapiscan Systems Classic, held in April. On the other hand, Steven Alker is running hot, having already won two events and top-five finishes in another five in seven events this year. Alex Cejka and Steven Alker will play in the same group on the first two days.
In what should be a highly competitive weekend, Alex Cejka and Steven Alker will join Darren Clarke, Steve Flesch, John Daly, and Rocco Mediate.
