It is the final event of the ongoing 2021-22 season of PGA Tour Champions. The latest iteration of the event began on October 14, 2022, and will run till October 16, 2022.
The event made its debut in 2001. Since then, the event has been running annually under the authorization of the PGA Tour Champions. BusinessWeek and Forbes presented the 2003 and 2004 iterations of the SAS Championship. At present, the event is sponsored by the SAS Institute.
A total of 79 players participated in the 2022 event held at the Prestonwood Country Club in North Carolina, USA. Popular Scott McCarron, Rocco Mediate, and Padraig Harrington are battling each other for the last championship of the season.

SAS Championship 2022 Purse
The total amount of the SAS Championship 2022 Purse is $2.1 million. It is the same amount as the previous year’s prize pool. There won’t be much difference between individual positions’ prize money this year.
This year’s champion will receive prize money of $315,000. It is the same amount the previous year’s titleholder, Lee Janzen, received. Additionally, the event’s runner-up is set to receive $184,000, while the 3rd placeholder will receive $151,200.
All of the 79 participants will receive a portion of the prize money this year. Players in the 76th, 77th, and 79th positions will receive $1,218, $1,050, and $966, respectively. It was the same case last year due to the similarities in the prize pool amount.
