Since the begging of the Super Golf League idea, it always dominated all the golf-related talk. No matter what tour or program is going on, the issue will eventually come up. And when the world’s best golfer came to the interview session they must have to talk about it. Very few people like the idea of Super Golf League and most of them have no respect for the tour, it’s all about the money they are willing to offer. Recently world number three best golfer Rory Mcilroy talks about the reality of the Super Golf League.

McIlroy is now playing at the Genesis Invitational which takes place in southern California. McIlroy doing well there as usual but fans expect much more from him. After shooting three-under 68 on Sunday he gave an interview. Their reporters asked him about the Saudi Arabia Super Golf League issue.

McIlroy gave his thoughts on the subject and describe the reality of the Saudi Golf League future which is not much bright. As the Super League tournament is almost knocking at the door, a reporter asked McIlroy if he will join the tournament or not. McIlroy says that he has no interest to join the Super League.

At the begging stage Saudi League there were talking that Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson will visit Saudi Arabia to take part in the SGL. But earlier this Sunday they both showed their loyalty towards PGA Tour and make it clear that they are staying with PGA Tour.

McIlroy says about the decision of DeChambeau and Johnson, “I was pleased to see DJ and Bryson clear their name those statements this week. Everyone wants to play against the best players in the world and they’re certainly two of the best players in the world and it’s really nice to know that they’re committed to playing here and committed to making the PGA best tour in the world.”

McIlroy also says, “Who’s left? Who’s left to go? I mean, there’s no one. It’s dead in the water in my opinion. I just can’t see any reason why anyone would go. I mean, Greg Norman would have to tee it up to fill the field. Like, I mean seriously? I mean, who else is going to do it? I don’t think they could get 48 guys.”

Rory McIlroy replies to Phil Mickelson:

Mickelson was one of the best players to support and promised to go Super Golf League. He says earlier, “We know that they killed Khashoggi and they have a horrible record and terrifying history on human rights. They execute people over there just for being gay. Knowing all of this, why would I even consider it, do you wanna know why? Because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reshape how the PGA Tour will operate in future.”

In replies to Mickelson, McIlroy says, “I don’t want to kick someone while he’s down obviously, but I thought they were naive, selfish, egotistical, ignorant.”

McIlroy also said that the SGL tournament has got no hope cause they didn’t have the blessing of Tiger Woods.
