The Match, a high-profile charity golf event, will again be held in 2022. Since its debut in 2018, this year will be the 6th iteration of the tournament. Featuring four-star NFL quarterbacks, the event is returning on Wednesday.

The Match 2022 Purse and Winner Payout

In 2018, the winner of the first iteration of this event, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, took home a cool $9 million payday. But from the next iterations of the event, all the money raised was donated to charity. As such, the winner didn’t make any profit.

So, again in this year’s The Match, the four golfers will be competing for winner’s bragging rights, as all money raised will be again donated to charity. No cash price will be handed to any of the four players.

The total donation amount of the charity is currently unknown as the final number relies on a few circumstances. There are often additional donation prices attached to the golfers depending on how they compete.

This charity golf event supports various philanthropic organizations. The list includes organizations such as Feeding America. American Red Cross and US Chamber of Commerce Foundations are charity partners to this event.

Capital One has raised close to $33 million throughout the event’s history. The money provided 17 million meals to Feeding America.

Who are competing in The Match 2022?

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Bradly and Super Bowl 45 MVP Aaron Rodgers will team up to face the league’s next-generation Super Bowl 54 MVP Patrick Mohames and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

The current odds for The Match are:

  • Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers: -180
  • Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen: +150

When and Where?

The Match will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The sixth iteration returns approximately seven months after the event’s last iteration. That’s when we saw Brooks Kopeka defeat DeChambeau.

The event, sponsored by Capital One, will be airing on TNT, HNL, and truTV.
