What is the Prince of Wales Stakes?
The race is the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown. Other races making up the series are the Queen’s Plate, which ran last month at Woodbine, and the Breeders’ Stakes, which takes place on Sunday, Oct. 2. The Prince of Wales is run on the dirt over a mile and three-sixteenths and is open to Canadian-bred three-year-olds.

Prince of Wales Stakes 2022: Date and Post Time
The 87th running of the event is taking place today, Tuesday, 13 September 2022.
The first race post time is 1:05 p.m. The Prince of Wales Stakes is scheduled to run at approximately 5:40 p.m. For those unable to attend, the race will be broadcast live on TSN from 5-6 p.m.
The race is taking place at the Fort Erie Race Track.

This year’s race features a field of seven, including Queen’s Plate third-place finisher Sir for Sure and one local entry, Collaborative, running for trainer Ravendra B. Raghunath and a group of Niagara-based owners. Queen’s Plate winner Moira is skipping the Fort Erie race.
