Indy 500 Preview:

The 2022 Indy 500 marks the 106th edition of the traditional racing competition in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. 33 Participants will take part in the race on Sunday’s event.

The racers include Scott Dixon, the winner of the 2008 Indy 500, who will start the race from the very front of the first row.

Scott Dixon will enjoy the fresh air, leaving 32 problems behind him. The biggest question is whether he could hold out to his lead. As the Indy 500-mile race is the biggest test of endurance as well as speed, a single mistake could put you at the bottom.

History shows that in 105 previous competitions, only 21 times have we had the racer starting from the front who finishes first. It included Scott Dixon in 2008 and that was his only Indy 500 title. Obviously, Scott Dixon will be the favorite to win the race on Sunday.

Alex Palou, defending series champion, will start next to Dixon in second, Marcus Ericsson starts fifth, 2013 winner Tony Kanaan sixth and Jimmie Johnson is on the fourth row on the grid in 12th.

Helio Castrovones, the joint most Indy 500 winners (4) of all time and the defending champion, will start from deep in the field in the 27th spot. It would be difficult for him to set the world record of winning the solo most Indy 500 this time from behind. Let’s see if he can make history at the Brickyard on Sunday.
