Bruce Buffer is one of the most iconic people in UFC. With his voice and command, the match starts. It’s been this way for almost a quarter-century. His legend commentary always takes the game to the next level. His analyzing matches is beyond anyone’s capability. He has the power to see the fight in a very unique way.

One of the best things people loved about the man is he could judge both players very neutrally. Buffer is working with UFC for a long long time. Since the beginning of the UFC fight, Buffer served as a pay-per-view event announcer.

But recently the voice of the octagon got infected by the COVID-19. And he had to step down from his duty after being there for 25 years nonstop. Bruce Buffer will be missed by all the UFC fans and players. Everybody wished him good luck in getting better soon. And we are hoping he will recover the weakness over the weekend.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the unavailability of Bruce Buffer on Thursday on the pre-conference of UFC 267. White said, “Buffer got COVID. He didn’t want to make this trip. He’s home relaxing and recovering from COVID.”

Buffer sickness and not doing the announcing raised a question and all the websites, media, news claim they are right. The thing is that some are saying Buffer did the announcing job for 25 years. And another party is saying no, in their thought it’s not 25, it’s actually 24 years. Well, after going through the history it’s still unclear.

When Buffer was asked about it he said, “UFC 8 I did prelims. UFC 10 full show and then UFC 13 on non-stop. Covid does affect memory I guess LOL.”

Buffer joined the UFC in 1996. Since he didn’t miss a single pay-per-view event. He and his half-brother Michele announce all the pay-per-view matches of UFC. Besides working with UFC, he gave voice in the video games, boxing events, Monday Night Football on ESPN.

Who will give announce UFC 267 instead of Bruce Buffer?

As Bruce Buffer will be unavailable then who will play the role of UFC announcer? White said that Joe Martinez will replace and cover the day for Buffer.

Martinez usually serves as a ring announcer when Buffer is unable to come. After getting recover from covid-19, Buffer will come back and join the UFC announcing session again.

Buffer will miss the UFC 267. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday night at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The event is featured by four of the most wonderful fighters. There will be two big fights, the main fights for the light heavyweight title where champion Jan Blachowicz will defend his title against top contender Glover Teixeira. And in the co-main event section Petr Yan the former bantamweight champion will fight against another former champion Cory Sandhagen, their battle is for the interim bantamweight title
