Kamaru Usman did not shy away from talking smack after sending Jorge Masvidal down on the canvas to defend his UFC welterweight belt.

A recent UFC video has revealed the champ’s first words to his opponent after knocking him out cold at UFC 261 main event.

In the Thrill and Agony video series, Usman could be heard saying: “Let’s drop this shit.”

The aftermath of Rose Namajunas’ title-winning victory is also visible in the video. Her historic win over Zhang Weili sparked a huge celebration in the Namajunas locker room.

The newly-crowned UFC champ was seen celebrating with Valentina Shevchenko, who defeated Jessica Andrade the same night to defend her UFC flyweight strap.

Namajunas and her trainers celebrated the win to mark the day when she became the first-ever two-time UFC strawweight champion.

The video shows how the fighter joked about what Joanna Jędrzejczyk would be thinking about her fight.

“I love Joanna, but she’s gonna be mad,” Namajunas said. She has beaten Jędrzejczyk twice in the UFC.

As for the main event of that night, this was the second time both in 2020 when Masvidal stepped in on short notice on Fight Island. Usman won that fight with a grinding performance via a unanimous decision.

Masvidal gave tough competition to the Nigerian Nightmare, but a solid technique in his wrestling helped Usman get the nod of dight’s judges.

After losing the 2020 fight, Masvidal told UFC President Dana White that he can beat Usman if given more than a week to train.

He got his wish fulfilled at UFC 261, but it was Usman who shined again. The UFC champ propelled his win streak in the organization to 14 with a thumping victory after knocking out Masvidal.

The KO photo became a viral sensation and sent social media in frenzy. The MMA fraternity lauded Usman’s ability to be just as good with his punches as he is in the ground game.

Is there any other challenge for Usman in the division?

Usman has been undefeated in his UFC career so far and doesn’t seem to lower his gears. He has been a terrific performer for the organization and he has backed up his aura with back-to-back wins.

This makes us wonder if there’s any real challenge left for the Nigeran fighter in the welterweight division since Usman has overwhelmed most juggernauts of his weight class.

These include Colby Convington, Tyron Woodley, Gilbert Burns, and Masvidal.

Khabib declares Usman No. 1 P4P UFC fighter

Appreciations always boost one’s morale, but they have a bigger impact when they are done from a legend of the respective field.

While speaking to ESPN, Usman was glad and thrilled to learn that former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has called him the best pound-for-pound fighter on the UFC roster.

The Dagestani fighter feels that Usman has been phenomenal with every challenge since winning the title. Both fighters are represented by the same manager and remained undefeated in their UFC careers.
