Kevin Durant set a new record in Team USA history by passing the basketball to Carmelo Anthony as USA’s all-time leading Olympic scorer which advances to the knockout stage with a win over the Czech Republic.

The USA defeats the Czech- Republic 119 to 84 and Kevin Durant passes Carmelo as the all-time leading Olympic scorer for team USA. He had 23 points in this game and Jason Tatum was off the bench with 27th. This was an interesting game. The US Olympic team shifted gears after a slow start, kept up the pressure, and ended up with a victory.

Durant has played in a total of 19 Olympic games that span from the 2012 London Games, 2016 Rio Games, and 2020 Tokyo Games. He has scored in double digits in all of them, scoring over 20 points six times, and was the team’s leading scorer in 2012 and 2016.

The U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team is quickly finding its groove in Tokyo. Taking home a 119-84 blowout victory over the Czech Republic to guarantee a spot in the knockout stage.

Czech – Republic, they came out hot. They had the early lead in the first quarter. It was looking scary. Lillard was missing shots. He finished with just eight points tonight and they couldn’t get rid of this team until the third quarter. That’s when the USA pulled away. They won the quarter 35 points to 17.

Finally, we got some defensive intensity for the USA. Jason Tatum had two blocks, Zach Levine had a steal, three steals for Jrue Holiday. It’s all about the defense. You have got to play this level of defense if you want to be able to win these games because they are showing you all these international teams. It was a mop-up job really.
