Barca fully on Lewandowski, Eriksen courted in England or Handanovic on the departure of Inter: all the information of the football transfer window of this Monday, April 4, 2022.
Lewandowski at Barca, it’s hot
The Catalan daily Sport is more assertive than ever: Robert Lewandowski “said yes” to FC Barcelona, which has been courting him for months.
The Polish striker would consider having made the rounds at Bayern Munich, which he joined in 2014. He has already informed his entourage of his wish to evolve at Barca, ready to offer him what he wants: a contract of at least three seasons.
Bayern has reportedly refused to extend him for more than a year while his lease expires in June 2023. The German club, heading for a 10th consecutive German championship, would accept no less than €65 million to let go of Lewandowski (33), 2nd in the Ballon d’Or 2021 unless a Barcelonan is included in the transaction.
The American right-back Sergio Dest (21) would have just caught the eye of the Bavarians. Barca has made the recruitment of a center-forward their priority for this summer.
Barcelona: it’s getting impatient for Araujo
Days go by, and Ronald Araujo cements his place as a starter under Xavi at FC Barcelona. But it does not shed light on its future.
The Uruguayan defender (23) is negotiating a contract extension while his lease ends in a year. According to our colleagues at Sport, Araujo’s agents are annoyed that Barca is taking the situation lightly.
“We know Araujo is excited to stay, but everyone has to understand and adapt to the club’s situation,” Barca sporting director Mateu Alemany said.
“We had a meeting this week to discuss the contract; I’m optimistic,” Araujo said after Barca’s 1-0 success. The Uruguayan has played 34 games, including 27 as a starter with the Blaugrana this season.
Manchester United and Tottenham are thinking about Eriksen
It is a thunderous return that Signs Christian Eriksen, less than a year after his heart ailment at Euro 2020. The Danish midfielder scored twice with his team during the international break and scored his first goal with Brentford in a prestigious victory at Chelsea last Saturday (1-4).
Last week, the Times informed us that Brentford already wanted to extend Eriksen (30) beyond this season. The Daily Mail revealed that Manchester United and Tottenham are “watching” the former Inter Milan player on Monday.
Eriksen has already shone in the Tottenham shirt between 2013 and 2020. Since returning to the pitch, he has played 4 Premier League matches, 3 of them in full.
Inter Milan: Handanovic in the waiting
The end of an era at Inter? Samir Handanovic has been the starting goalkeeper since 2012 and the captain since 2019. But the Italian club has already recruited André Onana, Cameroonian goalkeeper at the end of his contract at Ajax Amsterdam, for next season.
Handanovic, 38 years old next July, still does not know if his interest adventure is coming to an end. “I am at the end of my contract in June; I hope we can find an agreement, but nothing is decided,” said the Slovenian goalkeeper to the microphone of DAZN Sunday, after the victory at Juventus (0-1).
The arrival of Onana (26) “is not a problem” for Handanovic, who wants “Inter to be stronger.” Handanovic is yet to settle for the role of understudy in the third division of Serie A.
