Prime Bank Cricket Club opener Anamul Haque Bijoy has made history in the Dhaka Premier League as the right-hand batter scored one thousand runs in the country’s prestigious domestic tournament which is the highest ever for a batter in a season since the tournament has been recognized as the ‘List-A’ cricket back in 2013.
Anamul Haque edged the phenomenal one thousand run milestone on Tuesday in the match against the Rupganaj Tigers Cricket Club at BKSP-4.
He was just 70 run-away to sail the one thousand run shore that he reached pretty comfortably after he remained unbeaten on 112 off 84 balls alongside his partner Tamim Iqbal who remained undefeated 109 off 81 balls that guided Prime Bank to earn a thrashing 10-wicket win over Rupganj Tigers.
In the ongoing season of the DPL Anamul accounted for 1042 runs with three hundred along with eight fifties.
He has a fair opportunity to enrich his record as the league has another game remaining which is scheduled to play on April 28.
Prior to Anamul Haque, the record for the highest run in a season of DPL was occupied by Saif Hasan with 814 for Prime Doleshwar back in 2019 which has been taken over by Anamul on last Thursday.
Before Anamul former Zimbabwe batter Steve Tikolo and Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu hit thousand run in a season.
