According to sources, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has reached a verbal agreement on a four-year contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.
Chelsea tried everything to keep Germany international. They made the last offer of £230,000-a-week before the sanctions. But it was rejected, and the club has been functioning under a special operating license issued by the government ever since. This implies they can’t undertake any transfer transaction, including signing player contracts.
Chelsea was unable to continue discussions with Antonio Rudiger over a new contract. Despite being on the verge of joining Real Madrid, a verbal agreement has finally been reached.
The goal is to wrap up the negotiations within the next week after Rudiger became agitated while waiting for Chelsea’s takeover to be finalized.
“He has no doubts and has made no doubts about it, he will play until the end of the season with everything he has,” Tuchel said after his side’s 1-0 win over West Ham this weekend.
“This is what he did from day one, and it’s what he will do until the last minute. I am 100 per cent sure.”
The financial terms of Antonio Rudiger’s deal with Real Madrid have not been disclosed, but both MARCA and Romano suggest that the contract might be signed this week, even if it is not confirmed until the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season. Rudiger is ready to sign a four-year contract with Real Madrid.
