Eminent singer in the sub-continent AR Rahman is all set to play his concert on the birth centenary of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 29 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Dhaka.

The famed singer said that he set to arrive in Bangladesh tonight on the occasion of the ‘cricket celebrates Mujib’s 100’ hosted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board to commemorate the birth centenary of the father of the nation.

‘I am coming to Bangladesh on the occasion of ‘cricket celebrates Mujib’s 100’ organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board to commemorate the birth centenary of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.’

‘See you on March 29 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Dhaka,’ told AR Rahman through a video message provided by the BCB on Saturday night.

He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on March 27 at 9 pm.

To celebrate the hundred years of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the BCB held the first concert to pay tribute to the father of the nation in the opening ceremony of the Bangladesh Premier League 2019 where the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan alongside Katrina Kaif, Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher appeared together at the colorful stage of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on December 9, 2019.

In its continuation, the Tigers cricket administration was also scheduled to hold the concert of AR Rahman subsequently in the very next year along with hosting two friendly T20Is between Asia XI and the rest of the world, but they couldn’t due to the worldwide Covid-19 surge back in March 2020.

Considering the ongoing preferable state of the pandemic nationwide the BCB has decided to host the concert afresh that would be a finisher of the celebration birth centenary of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Meanwhile, they have branded several bilateral series both home and away along with domestic tournaments in the name of the father of the nation.
