The home fans witnessed a scary scene at Camp Nou as the Barcelona center-back Ronald Araujo collapsed on the ground after a head clash with his teammate Gavi. An ambulance entered the Camp Nou pitch to take Araujo to a local hospital.

Barcelona took on Celta Vigo in the La Liga on Tuesday night. The home team secured a 3-1 goals comfortable win over Celta Vigo. Barcelona scored twice in the first half as Memphis Depay and Aubameyang got a goal.

Aubameyang scored his second goal in the second half before conceding one due to a mistake at the back. Trailing by 3-1 goals, Celta Vigo got Jeison Murillo sent off, which confirmed a comfortable win for the home side.

But the home fans witnessed a terrifying scene on the Camp Nou pitch as the Barcelona star defender Ronald Araujo collapsed on the pitch following a head clash with Gavi. In the 62nd minute, the heads of the two young talents collided. Ronald Araujo initially rose and headed back to his box but collapsed on the ground.

The teammates and officials immediately called for medical attention. An ambulance entered and took Araujo to a local hospital.

Ronald Araujo Update

Barcelona boss Xavi confirms after the match that the 23-year-old Uruguayan is okay and awake after being taken to the hospital. There’s nothing to worry about in his condition, and the young defender is entirely out of danger.

This is what Xavi says after the match about Ronald Araujo:

“We can rest easy. The doctors have told us he is conscious and will be spending the rest of the night in the hospital, although we were scared at first.”

“He is fine. He has a concussion and will stay overnight, but he will be fine.”

Reports confirmed that the young Uruguayan gun had a concussion after colliding heads with Gavi’s team. As he is out of danger now, the family and fans can feel relief.

Ronald Araujo will now undergo tests before being cleared to leave the hospital. He will be given a mandatory time away from football to recover, usually a few days. I hope he will return to the pitch in a week.
