The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced BDT 3 crore as a bonus for the Tigers due to their epic one-day international series win over South Africa at SuperSports Park, Centurion on Wednesday.

BCB’s cricket operations chairman Mohammad Jalal Yunus told before the media at South Africa after the match that the BCB president has declared the bonus package out of his contention as the Tigers marked a golden success at the Protea’s den clinching the series 2-1.

‘This is truly unbelievable that we defeated South Africa at their den. Of course, this a historical victory.’

‘Earlier of this year South Africa have clean swiped India. Considering the reality clinching the series over here definitely a great achievement to us.’

‘There was an announcement as the players wanted to hear it a soon-after-the-game that is our president has declared BDT 3 crore for them. We made him call switching on the speaker and he had a conversation with the entire team, he is overwhelmed,’ added Jalal Yunus.

He additionally informed that the country’s sports-friendly prime minister Sheikh Hasina also watched the match, and he congratulated the Tigers for their monumental win.’

‘Hon’ble prime minister also watched the match and he congratulated them all. We are so happy that we clinched the series at the home soil of South Africa.’

Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal said that they will place the victory among the top threes they have earned till that.

‘This is up there; this is on the top. Scripting a victory within South Africa over such a quality side will be placed at the top three for sure. The way boys played I am proud of them.’

‘This is onerous to clinch a series in South Africa. In their last series, they defeated India by 3-0.’

‘We were supposed to believe that we can win here simultaneously also knew that to win a series we must need to leave our best,’ told Tamim.
