The Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to sit with Shakib Al Hasan face-to-face to know his next one-year schedule before they finished with the central contract of the Tigers of this year along with finding out an ideal replacement.
BCB’s cricket operations chairman Mohammad Jalal Yunus said that the Board is going to set out a meeting with Shakib Al Hasan immediately to know his next one-year plan before they finalize the central contract of the national team, 2022.
He further added on Monday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium that after holding the meeting they will get a conclusive idea regarding his further engagements that will help them to seek out a well-timed replacement.
‘We are going to sit with Shakib Al Hasanshortly to know his plans for the next one year ahead of the central contract of the national team players for this year.’
The ace all-rounder who was expected to step down from the upcoming Tests series against South Africa starting on March 31submitted a letter to the BCB president Nazmul Hasan afresh stating his unwillingness to play Test cricket for the next six months.
With the new year central contracting mind, the BCB is now eying to know his plan minutely whether he is available for all the matches of tigers forth.
‘In the meeting, we will be aiming to know detail from him if he is available for all formats alongside the matches ahead of this year. We will put him in the central contract dully.’
In 2021 Nazmul Hasan told that the players who are contracted with the board must inform before their other schedules both personal and professionalasShakibsteeped aside from the Test series with their Sri Lanka counterpart held in April.
Shakib showed his reluctance to take part in the Test for the first time back in 2017 against South Africa due to Indian Premier League commitment.
