Daniil Medvedev’s dream of becoming no. 1 has come true. As a 27th player, Medvedev managed to reach the top place of ATP ranking. After Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin Medvedev is counted as the third Russian boy who has reached the top place.

26-year-old Medvedev is considered the tallest player till now who have earned this honor. Before that in 2016 (November), at the age of 20 Medvedev first, enter into top 100. Right after next year, in 2017 Medvedev played at the inaugural Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals.

After that Medvedev first stepped into the top 10 through his performance. This happened in 2019. Also in 2020, Medvedev earned the prestigious season-ending Nitto ATP Finals trophy.

As we know, before Medvedev, Novak Djokovic was on the first rank. But now he has to leave his place as well as exchange it with Medvedev because he is now the new owner of that top position.

In the previous year, Medvedev defeated Djokovic in the US Open is now standing forward with a total of 8615 points.

Novak Djokovic is the player who has the longest journey of remaining in this top position. On the other hand, Medvedev always dreamt of this position with his heart. So, it’s been a sad moment for Djokovic fans and the happiest moment for both Medvedev and his fans. Both of them are replaced by each other.

Novak Djokovic’s thought about Daniil Medvedev’s ranking:

As we claimed before that Djokovic has kept in the no. 1 position for so long even more than others. He is now hoping to reclaim and get it back again. Also, he congratulated and make best wishes for Medvedev with his history-making rank. Novak said, “ He deserves to be number one.” “Eventually it’s going to happen. If it happens this week, I’ll be the first one to congratulate him.”

Though Djokovic was way good in his first 2 matches. But some unexpected errors made a bit of bad luck for him and now has to suffer a long run.

Thus this has gone a frustrating and unlucky thing for Novak Djokovic.
