Rafael dos Anjos is demanding to face Conor McGregor in his next. As Anjos wants to fight with someone that could bring excitement and Conor is the best option for him according to Anjos only.
Dos Anjos win against Renato Moicano that took place at T-Mobile Arena in UFC 272. Moicano (16-5-1 MMA, 8-5 UFC) loses to Dos Anjos (31-13 MMA, 20-11 UFC) in 49-45, 49-44, and 50-44 with a unanimous decision.
Anjos expressed: “I just want to be active. I want to be training. I need good names. I’ve been in this game for so many years and fought everybody in two divisions. I need names that make me want to go to the gym and train hard for it. That’s what I want.”
He further added: “I think the moment we’re living in right now, this fight would make a lot of sense, I was off work for 16 months. Conor broke his leg and is coming back this summer, I think. It would make sense. The division is a little crazy right now and I think this fight would make a lot of sense. It would be a big money fight, of course. We also have a story. As I said, I look for names that make me want to hit the gym and work out. It’s been so many years in this game. I don’t want to fight with names that don’t interest me, that don’t push me to go to the gym. I am 37 years old. (I) fought pretty much everyone in two divisions.
While some analysts may predict the game as a back Anjos will try to drag on the floor, he’s not necessarily counting on it. If he needs to strike with McGregor, he feels comfortable doing so.
“I have no problem trading blows with Conor. I think I’ve got it all. I’m pretty comfortable in stand-up. I know he has a dangerous game, but I’ll play my game – just mix it up. But I have no problem negotiating at all.”
Conor McGregor’s return in UFC and his reaction about it:
McGregor has not participated in any kind of match since last July. Because he had been suffering where he has been suffering from a broken leg that created a horrible situation. This unfortunate incident happened on the match in his trilogy fight defeat against lightweight Dustin Poirier.
Moreover, Dos Anjos has returned with a winning spirit and come back with a great win against Renato Moicano which is considered the first fight since November 2020.
Conor McGregor added: “April they said I can spar again and box again basically, so I’m just gonna take it day by day. Once I get back sparring I’ll know the weight, I’ll know feel, I’ll know my own style. I’m gonna develop a different style, I imagine. I’ve been shadow boxing a bit lately, and I feel like I’m just getting the bearings of myself.
“But I feel good. I’m grounded on my feet, I can stop and start and take off. It’s just the little twists or torque that I’ve gotta be careful on.
“But this will be a ‘here today and gone tomorrow type of thing in my own head; the bone will recover, it’ll connect back to itself, and it’ll be like it never happened.”
People are being very excited about watching a fight between these two fighters. That will be a great comeback for Conor and a double win for Anjos.
