Frenkie de Jong

Manchester United officials are in verbal talks with Barcelona over the Frenkie de Jong transfer. The initial €60m transfer fee for the midfielder was rejected by the Catalan club. Now the Red Devils have placed  an improved bid of €65m plus add-ons and in direct talks with Barcelona, according to the reports of Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United finished 6th in the table in the Premier League last season. They are in a state of rebuilding under new manager Erik ten Hag. The 25-year-old former Ajax midfielder has been the number 1 priority for Erik ten Hag, former Ajax manager.

With the new €65m on the table, the Red Devils seem closer to getting it done.

Frenkie’s situation, on the other hand, can kick-start Bernardo Silva to Barcelona. It has been no secret that Xavi admires the Man City midfielder. The Blaugrana had an interest in the Portuguese since last summer. They couldn’t approach due to financial crises.

Bernardo Silva expressed his desire to play for Barcelona. It had been a dream for the 27-year-old star midfielder to play for his dream club, according to the reports of Mundo Deportivo.

Pep Guardiola, Man City manager, said that he would not stand in the way to stop any player if they want a move. As Barcelona is gunning for transfer after selling club assets, and Frenkie is close to an exit, Bernardo Silva to Barcelona is now closer than ever.
