Gary McCord

It has come to light that outspoken Gary McCord may be joining David Feherty at LIV Golf in 2023. This news comes just a few days after David Feherty announced of leaving NBC Sports for LIV Golf.

Before his employment at CBS Sports came to an end in 2019, McCord had been there for the better part of 33 years. McCord was seething with anger at the time because of their choice to terminate him.

Now that his contract has expired, he is a free agent. McCord has told that he has had two meetings with LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman. And a third meeting is expected to take place through Zoom this week. This is despite the fact that no deal has been inked.

McCord was a former player on the PGA Tour. In 1999, he took home two victories on the PGA Tour Champions.

Last week, LIV Golf announced that they have added Feherty to their team of golf analysts as their newest member.

Many people working in the golf business were taken aback by the decision, which was especially surprising given that Feherty’s own charity for US military veterans, the Troops First Foundation, is a component of the 9/11 Memorial Golf Fund.

Prior to LIV Golf’s debut tournament the company engaged longtime NBC soccer host Arlo White to serve as its chief host.

In addition to White, well-known golf pundits Jerry Foltz and Dom Boulet will be providing analysis from the commentary box. There have been rumblings that Charles Barkley may potentially join LIV Golf.
