On Sunday, Jordan Spieth won the RBC Heritage after defeating Patrick Cantlay in the final round. The win at the RBC Heritage earned Spieth a lot of money. Spieth becomes the 11th number most earning player on PGA Tour after getting the first prize of $1,440,000 from RBC Heritage.
Spieth is having a great time in his career. Last Sunday, he won the most prestigious PGA Tournament, RBC Heritage 2022. From the beginning of the tournament, Spieth was giving an amazing performance on the course. But while playing in the final round, Spieth had a hard time against Cantlay. Cantlay almost pushed Spieth out of the first position. One missed shot at the end kept Cantlay from getting first prize.
After the tournament ended, Spieth talked about the tournament while wearing the tartan jacket provided to the RBC Heritage winner. He says about the final round, “The whole thing took me by surprise because I legitimately thought Patrick was going to make it from 35 feet.” To be honest, it’s really hard to make a shot from 35 feet away, but if luck stays with the player and the player gives all his attention to the shot, then it’s possible. Unfortunately, luck was on the side of Spieth that day.
At the finishing time, both Spieth and Cantlay were in the same position having 13-under par for 72 holes points beside their name. But then Spieth managed to win a par on the first extra hole after Cantlay was unfortunately plugged in the greenside bunker. This ensures the victory of Spieth.
The winning of the RBC Heritage made Spieth’s PGA Tour winning record to 13. It’s his second straight winning on Easter Sunday. Last year Spieth won the Valero Texas Open; with that win, Spieth removed his four-year drought and returned to the winning site.
The winning of the RBC Heritage earned Spieth a total of $1,440,000. With this first prize, Spieth writes down a new history. He crosses the 50 million dollars winning range after getting the first prize. Spieth’s total career earnings are now $50,578,855.
Spieth is the 11th player to cross this 50 million dollar bar. He is just 4 million dollars behind to reach the 10th earning position. The most earnings ranked at the top of his career is Tiger Woods. His total earnings are $120,895,206.
