The Red Devils attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard became a free agent this summer after his contract expired with the club. West Ham United showed interest to sign the player who had an excellent loan spell with them. But Nottingham Forest beat West Ham to sign the player, offering lucrative wages.
How much will Jesse Lingard earn at Nottingham Forest? According to multiple reports from the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg and The Times, Jesse Lingard will earn a club record £200,000 per week. It is also going to be the highest salary for a player outside of the big six clubs in the EPL.
Jesse Lingard had a very little game time with Manchester United for the past few seasons. He was loaned off to West Ham in 2020-2021. The attacking midfielder had an excellent spell for the Hammers, socring 9 goals and assisting another 4 in just 16 appearances. After returning at the Old Trafford, he struggled for game time once again in season 2021-2022. He made only 16 appearances and scored two goals.
The 29-year-old English international was in hunt for new clubs after his contract expired in this summer transfer window. The Hammers were hoping to sign the player for a salary around £150,000 per week, that was less than Lingard’s expectation of £180,000.
Now the official announcement has come from Nottingham Forest and from Lingard about the signing. According to several reports, the player will earn around a whopping £200,000-a-week salary. It is the highest wage among other Nottingham Forest players. Moreover, it will be the highest salary for a player outside of the big six EPL clubs.

According to the reports of The Sun in June, Nottingham Forest’s highest earner was Ethan Horvath making £19,000 per week. That was before the signing of Dean Henderson on loan from Man Utd, who makes £110,000-a-week.
The other highest paid players outside the big six clubs are Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) £140,000-a-week, Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) and Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City) making £130,000 per week. Aston Villa’s new permanent signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona earns £125,000-a-week.
The signing of Jesse Lingard should play crucial part for the survival of Nottingham Forest in the top flight of the EPL. Moreover, Lingard will be a regular starter for his side which could prove crucial months before the World Cup 2022.
