In Spieth’s words, “I just think the history of it, playing in the town, the idea that it could be the easiest or either the hardest venue that we play depending on the day. Maybe it’s just I remember watching certain ones growing up, and so the holes, the kind of scenic holes, starting and finishing.”

Spieth last played British Open at St. Andrew in 2015. He thinks the tournament in St. Andrew will be too easy for competitors compare to its reputation. The course was created a long long time ago. The combination of the modern golf club and ball technology will be allying present days players. Where the venue’s many classic links or coastal courses are almost defenceless against today’s players who are habituated to modern standards of golf.

But if the wind started to blow then the tournament will be highly challenging. Though nothing won’t be a matter as the competition is among players not with the course.
