After the deadline-day trouble, Barcelona have successfully sealed the deal for young LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo. The 21-year-old right-back is a two-time All-Star in the Major League Soccer (MLS). Barcelona sign Julian Araujo for a reported 3-and-a-half-year permanent deal.
Julian Araujo Transfer Update
The Spanish giants Barcelona wanted to make the deal done with the American club LA Galaxy before the transfer deadline was over. However, the paperwork was 18 seconds late to arrive, causing a hiatus.
Finally, the issue is solved, and Barcelona have successfully brought in Julian Araujo, on February 17, 2023.
The Catalan club has signed the 21-year-old Mexican international for a 3-and-a-half-year permanent deal, according to reports from Barcelona. The contract is valid till the end of the 2025-26 season.
Julian Araujo will initially join the Barcelona B team, Barca Atletic. After that, he will play for the senior side.
Transfer Fee
Reports in the United States said Barcelona would pay LA Galaxy a $4 million (€3.7 million) transfer fee. Moreover, LA Galaxy have included a sell-on clause.

Julian Araujo penned a goodbye letter to the LA Galaxy and its fans via an Instagram post.
“A big thanks to the incredible fans who cheered me on from my debut to my final game,” said Araujo. “To all of my teammates, coaches, and staff, it was a pleasure to represent the badge alongside all of you. I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to develop from an academy member to a first-team player, with the biggest club in MLS.”

LA Galaxy head coach Vanney congratulates the two-time MLS All-Star defender for his journey ahead.
“He’s played now three years inside of the first team and he’s been recognized for his growth and the effort he’s put in,” Vanney said.
“Now he’s going to be moving to one of the biggest clubs in the world. This is by no means the end of Julian’s story, this is just the next chapter.”

Julian Araujo is a 21-year-old American-born Mexican defender. He plays as a right-back.
Araujo came through the MLS side LA Galaxy youth system. He played three seasons for the Galaxy in the Major League Soccer of the United States.
For his brilliant performance, he was named MLS All-Star for both the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
