Canelo vs Golovkin 3

The biggest fight between Canelo vs Golovkin 3 will take place at Las Vegas’ T Mobile Arena. Both of the previous fights took place in the same building.

Alvarez and Golovkin are returning to the site of their epic fights. The September 2017 fight ended in a draw. It was unanimously agreed that Golovkin had done enough to win the fight. Alvarez won the rematch by majority decision one year later.

After defeating Caleb Plant at 168lbs in November, Alvarez moved up to light-heavyweight to try to beat Dmitry Bivol (WBA super) twice. Bivol had other ideas and won by unanimous decision Alvarez’s first loss in more than eight years.

Golovkin, who was traveling to Japan in April, beat Ryoto Mura by ninth-round TKO. This win added the WBA (superior) middleweight title to Golovkin’s IBF belt. GGG now has the chance to revenge on two fights he felt should’ve gone his way.

Officially, the location and ticket information for Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3 have been announced. The highly anticipated trilogy fight will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 17. The contest will last twelve rounds and features the undisputed super middleweight champion from Mexico against the unified middleweight champion from Kazakhstan.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (57-2, 39KOs) was last seen in action in May. He dropped a unanimous decision against Dmitry Bivol, the reigning WBA king. This result allowed him to become a two time light heavyweight champion. Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1; 37 KOs) fought his last fight in April. He stopped Ryota Morta in round nine to retain his IBF Middleweight title and the WBA belt.

The Venue will be at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas:

The pair have fought in previous bouts, the first ending in a controversial draw. The second fight was won by Canelo via majority decision in 2018, a year after the first. Covid and other fights delayed the trio.

It was confirmed that the fight would take place on September 17th. Although the venue was not confirmed by Matchroom boss Hearn, he has confirmed that the fight will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo, who has been fighting eight times since beating Golovkin in 2018, is coming off a surprising loss to Dmitry Bivol. Golovkin has now won every fight he’s had, including the one against the Mexican four-years ago.
