No shirt number has been given yet. It is expected that Haaland will wear the number 9 shirt in the next season which is currently occupied by Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian forward may leave the club this summer as Barcelona and some top flight English teams are showing interest. It is also speculated that Haaland would wear number 15, a shirt number that his father played for the Citizens between 2000 and 2003.
Erling Haaland has expressed his delight to join the Blues to the club website.
“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.”
“I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
The Norwegian goal-machine praises Pep and reveals his excitement working with him.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.”

Erling Haaland scored 29 goals and assisted another 8 in his 30 appearances for Dortmund this season. He scored 86 goals and 23 assists in 89 appearances since he joined the German club in 2020.
The Norwegian talisman has 21 caps for his nation, scoring 20 goals. Norway is playing in the UEFA Nations League 2022-2023 in League B with Sweden, Serbia, and Slovenia in the same group. They have already beaten Sweden twice and Serbia once this June to hold the top spot after matchday 4. Erling Haaland has scored 5 goals in 4 matches in the Nations League.
The Citizens can finally catch their European dream with Erling Haaland busting nets for them next season.
