Bangladesh pace man Ebadot Hossain sustained a finger injury during the super league match against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday that ruled him out of the contention however there is no doubt regarding his accessibility in the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka starting on May 15 at the port city Chattogram.

The right handed fast bowler who had been playing for Sk. Jamal Dhanmndi Club has sustained a finger strain during the super league match of the Dhaka against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday.

Bangladesh Cricket Board chief physician Debashis Chowdhury confirmed to Surprise Sports on Thursday that Ebadot Hossain, who received seven stitches in his right finger, will need at least a week pause from all forms of cricket for his complete recovery.

That signifies that the 28-year-old fast bowler is expected to recover and heal by April 28 which is the final date of the ongoing season of the DPL. Conversely the two Tests against Sri Lanka will start on May 15.

‘Ebadot received more than seven stitches in the middle of his first and second finger of the right hand after he sustained an injury during the  match against Rupganj Tigers.’

‘We have advised him to take a seven day rest that would be fine with him but he has no doubt of playing in the Test series against Sri Lanka if there doesn’t occur any infection in his finger,’ added Debashis.

Ebadot has featured in the two ties of DPL, 2022 following the Test series against South Africa where he bagged three wickets.

The touring Sri Lanka will arrive on Bangladesh May 8 to play in the two Test series against the Tigers which is part of the ICC World Test Championship.

The opener of the series will take place from May 15 to 19 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram followed by the second and final Test will be held from May 23 to 27 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.
