French Open will organize their upcoming grand slam event fully and without any restrictions after two years. For the past two years, there have been so many rules and regulations on both players and the audiences due to pandemic situations.
For this cause, many players were unable to attend plus there was a limited audience in court. And finally, the 2022 French Open will be held like in the old days. Rules that were put for Covid-19 are no more on the paper. The board withdraws all of them.
This creates an opportunity for former number one Novak Djokovic. He is out of the grand slam event and many big tournaments for a long time now. Last he was withdrawn from the Indian Wells and Miami 1000 Masters.
Though Djokovic had his name in the entry list of the BNP Paribas Open in the final count down they withdraw Novak. That was a tragic decision for all his fans cause we thought finally we may see our favorite player in the big tournament.
After Djokovic got the message that he is not allowed to participate in the BNP Paribas Open, he was heartbroken too. Though, he guessed from the begging that something like that might happen. After missing one of the tournaments Novak wrote on his social media, “I knew it would be unlikely I’d be able to travel. The CDC has confirmed that regulations won’t be changing so I won’t be able to play in the US. Good luck to those playing in these great tournaments.”
But now, Djokovic can finally make his return with French Open. As the French government says that they will withdraw the mandatory vaccination requirement against covid-19.
Amelie Mauresmo says, “Roland-Garros 2022 will be a full-scale event. We really wanted to put on a three-week event. As soon as the qualifiers get underway, we want the public to make the most of the matches and the stadium.”
The French Open will take place at the end of May. And it will end in the first week of June. The French government decided to reduce Covid-19 requirements for the travelers and in the whole country as the horrifying Covid-19 situation is almost gone. Unless again some problems come up, this will be their decision.
Russian Player entry to the 2022 French Open:
Players from Russia will also be able to compete in the French Open. After Russia invades Ukraine, many sports sectors banned Russia from participating in international events. The world tennis board removed all the tournaments that used to take place in Russia and Belarus. They also banned Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup team competitions.
Everyone was concerned about the future of Russian tennis players. But ATP, WTA, and ITF don’t go hard on the Russian player. They said that players from Russia are allowed to compete in international events but they can’t play under their national flag.
So, we will see the number one ranked Daniil Medvedev in the French Open with his fellow country players. He is currently competing in the Monte Carlo Master.
